The exclusive Wembley Stadium, the home of English football, hosted seven international rugby matches between 1992 and 1998.

The first sport played at the stadium was England's 26-13 victory over Canada on October 17, 1992 and the most recent, and perhaps most famous, was Wales' 32-31 victory over England at the Five Nations championship on April 11. , 1999.

Wales hosted all of their 'home' video games at the stadium during the 1998 and 1999 seasons as part of the construction of the Millennium Stadium.

The first rugby match to be played at the converted Wembley Stadium was the clash between the Barbarians and Australia on December 3, 2008. The match was staged to celebrate the centenary of the London Olympics.

Rugby league has been a frequent customer of Wembley, both before and after the refurbishment, with the latter venue being the perennial home of the Challenge Cup final.

However, rugby returns to the now 90,000-seat territory for the 2015 World Cup, with the stadium, which is the second largest in Europe, chosen for one of many quarter-finals.
